Candid food reviews since 2012

fried chicken to fine dining

From crispy pork belly at a market stall to degustation menus plated like art, Foodie in Heels is about celebrating exceptional food in all its forms. My reviews range from hidden street food gems and hole-in-the-wall favourites to three Michelin star fine dining. It's never about the price tag or the postcode - it's about flavour, craft, provenance and the stories behind every plate.

MEET JESS

Food. Wine. Candid Reviews.

I originally started sharing food reviews on Urbanspoon/Zomato out of a simple frustration: wasting calories and hard-earned money on forgettable meals. That same philosophy remains at the heart of Foodie in Heels - on Instagram and now on this website.

My writing is frank but fair, with a sharp attention for detail and genuine respect for the people and livelihoods behind every dish.  The goal is always to manage expectations, so you walk away with an experience even better than my own.

As for my last supper? Crispy pork belly bánh mì, Australian Wagyu flat iron or spinalis steak with duck fat roasted potatoes, and - without apology - a hot & spicy drumstick from Colonel Sanders!

People who love to eat are always the best people.

Beneath the Buzz

A series of reviews spotlighting eateries which aren’t flooding your socials but absolutely should be on your radar.
